I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Union Institute & University in 2012 and my Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University in 2003. I completed my predoctoral internship at the University of Akron Counseling & Testing Center, where my training emphasized military and veteran mental health and included specialized training in biofeedback. I later completed postdoctoral training in Health Promotion at Case Western Reserve University.
Throughout my clinical training and professional experience, I have had the opportunity to work with children and families, college students, veterans and military-connected individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to providing care that is responsive to each person’s unique identity, circumstances, values, and goals.
My clinical experience includes supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationship concerns, family challenges, academic stress, burnout, life transitions, and women’s mental health concerns. I also have an interest in perinatal mental health, including postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, and perinatal loss.
I draw from a broad range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Relational Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Strength-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based and integrative approaches.
My specialized training in biofeedback also allows me to incorporate breathing, relaxation, and self-regulation strategies when appropriate. I believe that therapy is most effective when we work together, combining professional knowledge with your own understanding of your experiences to create care that is meaningful, practical, and supportive.
