Kelly Polnaszek, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist dedicated to helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief, health concerns, and major life transitions. She takes a warm, supportive, practical, and evidence-based approach, working collaboratively with each client to understand what they are experiencing, identify what matters most, and develop strategies that can create meaningful improvements in everyday life.
Kelly specializes in anxiety, depression, grief and loss, major life transitions, chronic medical conditions, chronic pain, and concerns related to cognitive changes. She has a particular interest in the connection between physical and emotional health and enjoys helping individuals adjust to medical diagnoses, changes in functioning, and the uncertainty that can accompany health challenges.
Kelly primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while incorporating approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) when appropriate. She provides secure and convenient telehealth therapy for adults in Illinois, Wisconsin, and participating PSYPACT states.

I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. I want you to feel understood while also developing concrete skills that you can use outside of our sessions. My style is warm, practical, and evidence-based, and I work with you to understand what you’re experiencing, identify what matters most to you, and develop strategies that align with your individual needs and goals.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and may also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) when appropriate. I am particularly interested in the connection between physical and emotional health and enjoy helping individuals cope with medical diagnoses, chronic pain, changes in functioning, cognitive concerns, and the uncertainty that can come with health challenges.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and supported while helping you build practical tools and greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
I earned my Ph.D. at Loyola University Chicago and completed my internship at the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle. I went on to complete postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Washington and the Seattle VA. I also enjoy providing supervision to early-career practitioners and am passionate about delivering evidence-based, individualized care.
