You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin healing. Sometimes, the first step is simply having a safe place to be heard.

Jenny Zott, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker | Michigan

She/Her/Hers

Jenny Zott, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and accepting space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges. She believes therapy should never be one-size-fits-all and recognizes that each person brings their own experiences, strengths, values, and goals into the therapeutic process. Jenny views her clients as the experts on their own experiences and works collaboratively alongside them to build insight, develop meaningful coping tools, and create positive change.

Jenny enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. She has experience supporting individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, panic disorders, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, relationship concerns, family dynamics, parenting challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and stress management. Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and grounded in an anti-racist, feminist, holistic, mindful, and social justice-oriented framework. Jenny tailors therapy to each individual’s needs, values, and goals, recognizing that what works for one person may not be the right fit for another.

Approach

Hi, I’m Jenny, a Licensed Master Social Worker who believes that therapy should be a collaborative process built around who you are, what you have experienced, and where you want to go. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and discover tools that feel meaningful and useful to you. I strive to create a warm, accepting, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. My approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and rooted in an anti-racist, feminist, holistic, mindful, and social justice-oriented framework. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work together to your individual needs, values, and goals. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, processing something painful, navigating a major life transition, working through relationship or family concerns, or simply hoping to understand yourself on a deeper level, I am here to walk alongside you. I value the trust clients place in me and believe that meaningful therapeutic relationships can provide a foundation for healing, growth, and lasting change.

Experience

I earned my Master of Social Work from Tulane University and bring a compassionate, holistic perspective to my work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Throughout my clinical experience, I have supported individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, relationship concerns, family dynamics, parenting challenges, identity exploration, and life transitions.

I draw from a variety of evidence-based and integrative approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based approaches, Psychodynamic Therapy, Play Therapy, Parent Management Training, and other family- and relationship-focused approaches.

I also have experience incorporating approaches such as Prolonged Exposure, Exposure Response Prevention, Behavior Modification, Positive Psychology, and strengths-based interventions when appropriate. When working with children and families, I can incorporate developmentally appropriate and family-centered approaches to help strengthen relationships, improve communication, and support meaningful behavioral and emotional change.

I believe every person deserves to feel seen, respected, and accepted for who they are. I strive to meet each client where they are, honor their individual experiences and identities, and create a therapeutic relationship where we can work together toward greater understanding, connection, resilience, and well-being.
