Devyn Mares, Psy.D. is an advanced postdoctoral fellow providing secure telehealth therapy across Illinois under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Devyn works with adolescent and adult clients to address symptoms of anxiety, depression, neurodivergence (ADHD and Autism), and more through the use of evidence based practices including ACT, CBT, and DBT. Devyn’s background as a school psychologist has provided a wealth of experience in addressing burnout in adults and supporting educators to set limits and achieve a work/life balance. Devyn’s style is positive, warm, humorous, and supportive; focusing on reducing power differentials during session to allow for self-exploration and growth.

I believe therapy works best when the power dynamic in the room fades and we work together as equals. I value humor, warmth, and authenticity, and I strive to create a space where you can feel safe enough to explore who you are and build on your own strengths. I truly believe that self‑understanding and practical skills can open the door to real growth, even in the midst of burnout, stress, or life’s biggest transitions.
As an advanced postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist, I bring a background as a school psychologist and years of experience supporting both adolescents and adults. I draw from ACT, CBT, and DBT to address anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and challenges around work‑life balance. My career has taken me through schools and clinics, and that wide lens helps me guide people in setting boundaries, rediscovering joy, and building a life that feels sustainable and fulfilling.
